About Us

I use Harmony Engine by Antares along with live vocals to add harmony to my mix.

Harmony Engine by Antares is a great tool to use along with live vocal harmonies to add harmony to your mix. My favorite way to use it, is to select scale interval and then select the key that I'm singing the song in along with the scale. The harmony will follow the lead singer input providing some great sounding harmony.

I clone my lead vocal track and then mute everywhere except the places where I want harmony. I then mute the input on the Engine and I have 4 outputs of harmony.

When I have the track sounding the way I want it, I insert a stereo buss into my project and route the vocal harmonies to the buss.

At the buss, I insert a chorus or a reverb effect and then feed the whole thing to the master buss.

I'm fortunate to have some relatives close by to also record some live vocal harmonies when necessary. Those tracks get fed to the same stereo buss mentioned above to get blended into the mix.

Want to hear a sample of how this works? Click on the link below that takes you to my soundclick page. It will open up another window. Listen to Time Of Need and of course any other song you would like to hear. When you're finished, just close that window and you'll be right back here.
